In The Fourth is a basketball narrative drama. It is a love letter to the flare of Los Angeles' hip hop culture and the fast pace world of high school basketball. This film explores the world of gang culture and its direct effect on the youth as well as how the next generation will navigate the chaos that is the changing world around us.

In The Fourth birthed as Sid Imani Varland's Senior Thesis film. The narrative was intended to explore the very real troubles regarding the question "What Runs The Youth". A story that explores the search for identity in a world of pride, promise, and exploitation under the lens of the nations number one standout star Josiah Freeman.
